Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez is a popular Mexican-American singer, actress and writer. Sara Ramirez was raised with her American mother. She faced a lot racial taunts that caused her to feel uncomfortable. When she was in 9th grade she began to feel more secure after being applauded by her teachers for her performance at school's audition. This experience did not just help to boost her confidence, but also changed her outlook on life. When she was 22, she was able to graduate from at the Julliard School of New York. In the year 23 she started her professional career, making her debut on Broadway in Paul Simon's The Capeman and in films featuring You've Got Mail. The role of The Lady of The Lake was her greatest success, and earned her an award called the Tony Award in addition to praise from critics for her role. The following year she was cast in the role of Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. Known as a singer she released her own single and an extended play. She has also been a vocal advocate for LGBT concerns.
