Silk was born in Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada. Ilkay Silk is the child of Peter Silk, who is an academic as well as Anna Silk who is a director, actress as well as a producer and playwright. Some of Anna's earliest memories were playing rehearsals with her mother and watching her work. Silk made several commercials while she was a child. She earned her Bachelor of Arts was awarded by St. Thomas University, 1997. Theatre St. Thomas has produced two plays in the initial years: Seven Menusand The Kitchen. Silk began her acting career after moving to Toronto the Canadian city of Toronto in November of 1999. She then moved to Los Angeles for the remainder of that decade. Seth Cooperman is her future spouse, whom she was introduced to in Los Angeles at an Actors' workshop, in 2007. The couple was legally married in December of 2009. They renewed their vows April 10th of 2011 in Fredericton following the wedding, when the bride was converted to Judaism.
