Silk was born Fredericton in New Brunswick Canada. Ilkay Silk was a well-known actor, producer and director who also taught in St. Thomas University. Her parents were Peter an academic with a reputation for excellence. Anna remembers her mother working in the theatre and going to rehearsals. Silk was featured in a variety of commercials when she was a young child. In 1997, she graduated with a bachelor's degree from St. Thomas University. Theatre St. Thomas was active in at least two of the early stage productions, including Seven Menus (1997) and The Kitchen (1999). Silk relocated from Toronto to Los Angeles in the decade after 1999. Seth Cooperman became her husband in 2007 when they met at an actor'sWorkshop held in Los Angeles. When they got engaged in 2008, they tied the knot in the year 2009. On April 10, 2011 the couple renewed their vows during an Jewish ceremony held in Fredericton after she had converted to Judaism.
